 An aircraft is a device that is used for, or is intended to be used for, flight in the air. Major categories of aircraft are airplane, rotorcraft, glider, and lighter-than-air vehicles.

 

 항공기는 공중 비행에 사용되거나 사용될 장치입니다. 항공기의 주요 범주는 비행기(고정익), 헬리콥터(회전익), 글라이더, 경량 항공기입니다.

intended to	~하려고 하다, ~할 작정이다
intend 자체는 '의도하다'라는 뜻이지만 뒤에 to부정사가 오면 '~하려고 하다, ~할 작정이다' 라고 해석하는 것이 자연스럽다.

 The most common aircraft is the fixed-wing aircraft. As the name implies, the wings on this type of flying machine are attached to the fuselage and are not intended to move independently in a fashion that results in the creation of lift. Rotary-wing aircraft such as helicopters are also widespread.

 

 가장 일반적인 항공기는 고정익 항공기입니다. 이름에서 알 수 있듯이 이러한 유형의 비행기의 날개는 동체에 부착되어 있으며 양력을 생성하는 방식으로 독립적으로 움직이도록 설계되지 않았습니다. 헬리콥터와 같은 회전익 항공기도 널리 사용됩니다.

 The airframe of a fixed-wing aircraft consists of five principal units: the fuselage, wings, stabilizers, flight control surfaces, and landing gear. Helicopter airframes consist of the fuselage, main rotor and related gearbox, tail rotor (on helicopters with a single main rotor), and the landing gear.

 

 고정익 항공기의 기체는 동체, 날개, 꼬리날개(안정판), 조종면 및 착륙장치의 다섯 가지 주요 단위로 구성됩니다. 헬리콥터 기체는 동체, 메인 로터 및 관련 기어박스, 테일 로터(메인 로터가 하나인 헬리콥터의 경우), 착륙장치로 구성됩니다.

 Structural members of an aircraft’s fuselage include stringers, longerons, ribs, bulkheads, and more. The main structural member in a wing is called the wing spar.

 

 항공기 동체의 구조 부재에는 스트링거, 세로지, 리브, 벌크헤드 등이 포함됩니다. 날개의 주요 구조 부재를 윙 스파라고 합니다.

 The entire airframe and its components are joined by rivets, bolts, screws, and other fasteners. Welding, adhesives, and special bonding techniques are also used.

 

 전체 기체와 그 부품은 리벳, 볼트, 나사 및 기타 패스너로 결합됩니다. 용접, 접착제 및 특수 접합 기술도 사용됩니다.
